The Ballarat Winter Festival is a celebration of Ballarat’s signature season through unique events, activities, and business offerings. Rug-up and get amongst it as Ballarat transforms into a winter wonderland with a myriad of experiences to warm your heart, soul, and belly.

If you have a Winter-based event, activity or offering, then we would love to hear from you! You can create an account via the Ballarat Winter Festival website and register the details of your offering. Once approved it will be uploaded to the Ballarat Winter Festival website. In 2021 the Ballarat Winter Festival will be held from Saturday 26 June through to Sunday 18 July. There are so many magnificent events, activities and offerings occurring in Ballarat throughout the entire season of Winter however, so check out Visit Ballarat for further information.

The Ballarat Winter Festival ice-rink will be open from Saturday 26 June to Sunday 18 July with many sessions available to suit your requirements. We recommend booking sessions online in advance at to ensure you can attend your preferred session.

Ice-rink session times
9pm-10pm* Disco Sessions: Fridays and Saturdays only 

*Child-friendly sessions: Recommended for parents and children up to 12 years of age every Monday-Friday from 9-10am.  

*Sensory sessions: with no music or flashing lights are available every Thursday from 9-10am, parents with children still welcome. 

The cost per 1-hour ice-skate session at the Ballarat Winter Festival ice-rink is:


Toddler (4years and under) $9.00 

Child (4-14years) $12.00 

Adult (15+ years) $18.00 

Family (2 adults/2 child or 1 adult/3 child) $48 

Group Booking (10 or more – all ages) $14 each  

We strongly recommend you book your tickets online and in advance to avoid disappointment.

Each ice-skate session at the Ballarat Winter Festival ice-rink is 1-hour. We appreciate prompt exit of the venue post-skate to make way for the next session.

In the event of another lockdown, all tickets for the Ballarat Winter Festival ice-rink will be refunded. We ask for your patience whilst the refunds are processed as this takes time.

Yes. Everyone who enters the ice-rink will be required to check-in via the venue’s dedicated QR code. For those who are unable to check-in via mobile phone, there will be a Visitor and Patron Contacts Log that you will need to complete. Checking-in assists with contract tracing. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
